Old Navy Shirtdress (thrifted) – worn as shirt // J.Crew Skirt (thrifted) // Gap Sandals
Vintage Belt (thrifted) // Homemade Necklace

One of the biggest things I look for when thrifting are pieces I can easily mix and match with things I already have. I do love fun pieces that are unique and maybe I can only wear with only one or two things, but I try to not let myself get carried away with buying those, but focus on things that can easily mingle with the rest of my wardrobe. This shirtdress is perfect because it really can be both a shirt and a dress. I adored wearing it with leggings as a comfy outfit this winter, and I love wearing it as just a top too. I'm all for getting as much wear out of my clothes as possible!

My favorite part about the warmer weather is just keeping things simple. I love layering come fall, and I love seeing other girls like Elizabeth from Delightfully Tacky who are insanely good at pattern mixing, but I will always be a huge fan of the simple, uncomplicated outfits for myself the most part. Even though this shirt is a men's and technically is much too big for me I just can't loving it to absolute death. It's such a fun nautical type pattern and in such classic colors that it's completely stolen my heart.

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day!

Target Dress // Ralph Lauren Shirt (thrifted) // J.Crew Belt // Gap Ballet Flats // H&M Hat

Yesterday I met my mom, mommom, both sisters and neice and nephew down in Deleware at this adorable fancy pizza place called Pizzas by Elizabeth. It had a big poster of queen Elizabeth – what’s more fun then that? This is one of my favorite dresses now and I threw it on for lunch, but by the time I got back home it was actually pretty chilly (where are you summer?!) so I threw this little shirt on to use as a jacket and actually loved the juxtaposition of the super feminine dress with a very boyish shirt. Sometimes it’s suprising the things you end up liking by just throwing things together.

We’ve been signing lots and lots of papers and things are moving forward to the house and it looks like we’ll have keys be the end of June! Did I mention I am super excited?

I've been having that itch. You know, that hair-cutting itch. I always keep my hair pretty long (my husband couldn't believe how long my hair was when I was little when we watched old home movies the other night), but the ends are extra damaged now because of the ombre and so I sometimes get a little crazy and start picking at the split ends – not good. But I know I'll miss it's length even if only cut a couple inches off.

I guess that's what you get when your a little crazy:) Hope everyone's Monday is lovely!

I just want to take a second to say thanks to you guys who commented on my post yesterday asking for opinions. Everyone was so sweet (as always!) and one comment from Kistina particularly struck me, she mentioned that I sound like I feel a bit "unsettled". It was one of those little comments that hits you and you go "YES, YES! THATS EXACTLY IT". Right now I am definitely feeling unsettled in a million and one ways. We were always sure that we'd find ourselves a house long before the one we've been renting sold, but we didn't. Then this one house we put an offer in on seemed so sure and we thought we'd be under contract way before we had to move out of here, but it didn't work out. Now we have ourselves, two dogs, and two chickens and no real idea what things will look like for the long term.

But I'm really trying to not let myself get too crazy but just feel confident that things will work out for the best in the end. And of course, what's more stress-relieving then wearing a horsey skirt? heh!

Where Am I?
