Hello Husband

Meet my handsome husband and his home-made Tesla Coil.
Oh yes, I said homemade.
Did I mention he’s super smart as well as super handsome?
Because he totally is.

(and yes, this photo was super fun to take with him… I love long exposure shots, you never know what you’ll get:)

3rd Street

One of my favorite things about our neighborhood in Philly is all the amazing little shops all within a block of our apartment (lucky me, hmm?). When it comes to window shopping it’s pure amazingness and no matter how many times in the same day I walk past the same store window I still cannot pull my eyes away from them. *sigh* I love Old City:)

Living Space

Our whole living room/dining room/kitchen area is pretty much set as far as furniture and the what-not. We are still waiting for them to redo our cabinets, but it still feels so nice to come home to such a pretty little place in such a pretty little neighborhood. As is probably obvious, mostly everything is vintage (found at either thrift stores or auctions) except for things like our super pretty ikea couch which I had had my eye on for quite some time before it found its way into our living room. Oh and my gorgeous Kitchen Aid Mixer in Pistachio that my mother got me as a wedding gift:)

I might have had too much fun with the furniture buying.
Anyone need an interior designer?
Will work for Starbucks and cupcakes!

Another impulse buy

Maybe that’s exactly why I love the auction.
The impulsiveness of it all.

So allow me to introduce you to our $5 table…

Isn’t it gawwwgeouss?
My mamma also re-stained it for us too.

So our living/kitchen/dining area is just about done! woo!

Impulse Buy

This old milk-crate is one of the impulse buys at the auction a few weeks ago. I bid on it with absolutely no idea what I would do with it. Then it hit me – PLANTER! oh yes, planter. Then my extra-smart mamma came up with the idea to put different herbs in mason jars which just happen to fit oh-so-perfectly in each little cubby hole. So I have some parsley, oregano, basil, lettuce (not a herb but still super yummy1) all at my fingertips now. and they all seem to be enjoying their new little home on the deck.
